Default ? Coral - Billed Ground Cuckoo

I know this bird does not exit in Singapore but we spotted a bird very similar to a Coral billed ground cuckoo twice this week around Lock road carpark opposite Bali seafood resturant. This morning we had a good 15mins look at it but no camera.

Red bill and legs , Black hood head and black tail. Pale white body/chest. It's very loud so you won't miss it.

Do go by that area to bird and let me know what it is. Will bring a camera and hopefully see it agn this week.

Or if anyone has any information on any escapee?

Did it look like this? Pic taken in Thailand. They are definitely not found so far south.

Thanks Chien but not quite...

The head is black hooded very similar but the leg is much redder .
Back of the body is black but belly white.
Tail is banded - black /white.

Very loud bird. This is the 2nd sighting in my 2 weeks there in the mornings.
Hopefully when my husband's camera is back frm the Dr clinic...we will see it agn....

Could it be a red-billed blue magpie? My father regularly spots them (a pair) in Singapore at a particular forested spot near Harbourfront but it is very likely that they would be flying around.

Hi Ljs, yep that's the one, the red-billed blue magpie. Escapee I believe. The one that Lilian and I spot doesn't have much blue on it.
